In furtherance of efforts of the Federal Government in the provision of instructional materials nationwide, under the Renewed Hope Initiative, the Cross River State Universal Basic Education Board has taken delivery of the following items: bags, books, pencils, rulers, and sandals, etc., for primary schools in Cross River State.
The Executive Chairman, Chief Magistrate Fidelia Okpo Ene (Rtd), personally carried out the distribution of instructional materials, ensuring that every Cross River child is given the best in the basic education sub-sector. The distribution exercise covered Government Primary School Ikot Anwatim, Calabar Municipality, around 9:13 am, followed by Government Primary School Atu, Calabar South, and Duke Town Presbyterian School, Calabar South, among other primary schools.
The Executive Chairman, SUBEB, Chief Magistrate Fidelia Okpo Ene (Rtd), while speaking to the pupils, said, ‘Children must be given everything necessary to attain success; one of such necessities that cannot be compromised is education.’ The children were excited and joyfully happy to receive those items alongside their class teacher, showing their appreciation to the Governor of Cross River State, Apostle Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Otu, and the Board as well.
